Todos los días el portavoz del Gobierno de Libia, Ibrahim Moussa, da una conferencia de prensa en árabe. Dado que la mayoría de nosotros en los países occidentales no entendemos una palabra de árabe a veces puede ser difícil saber lo que está sucediendo en Libia, de acuerdo a las informaciones que trasmite el Gobierno libio.
Afortunadamente hay gente dispuesta a traducir las sesiones de información, o al menos dar un resumen de los acontecimientos. Espero ser capaz de presentar las traducciones en este sitio. Yo podría utilizar más a personas que hablan árabe e inglés para traducir videos que circulan en YouTube .
Parece ser que los medios occidentales no hablan con nadie que sea partidario de Libia, se inclinan a ser muy embebidos dentro de las tropas rebeldes, y dan siempre como ciertas las declaraciones de los portavoces rebeldes. Este es probablemente el resultado del hecho de que los periodistas son de países de la OTAN y de Qatar (Al Jazeera), y que apenas hay periodistas que dan cuenta desde el otro lado del conflicto.
El bombardeo despiadado de la OTAN a todos aquellos que se oponen a sus rebeldes asociados en el suelo libio, convierten a esta guerra en injusta e ilegal internacionacionalmente. Pero estando en juego un objetivo tan alto, no se oye a casi nadie que se queje. Prefieren repetir eso de que Gaddafi está perdiendo para ocultar la realidad de que mucha gente lo apoya y que es la OTAN que crea situaciones en que a los rebeldes se les permite matar a sus propios compatriotas en las batallas de calle en calle, con la OTAN a su vez, matando a toda la oposición con sus aviones de guerra y helicópteros.
Todo ciudadano que lleva un arma para protegerse contra los rebeldes de la OTAN parece ser considerado como un blanco legítimo. (7)
El 18 de agosto se realizó una conferencia de prensa por el Secretario General del Comité de los Pueblos (la PM) en la que, de nuevo, declaró que quieren un alto el fuego y el fin de la violencia porque no quieren más sangre derramada en esta guerra.

Para la situación de seguridad en el importante desarrollo de la siguiente manera:
A) Un pequeño grupo de rebeldes entró en la refinería de de Zawia pero han sido expulsados.
B) un pequeño ataque de alrededor de 8 coches ha intentado un ataque desesperado de la zona sur de Zlitan en intento para forzar a las fuerzas del gobierno para salir de Misrata para hacerles frente pero fueron derrotaros y alejados por las tribus de Zlitan, con los Voluntarios de todas partes de Libia que están ahí y una pequeña presencia del Ejército (5) ... Moussa dijo que no cree en los los informes de los rebeldes .. Son tonterías.
C) Las rutas de abastecimiento de los rebeldes en el oeste se han cortado, de modo que no pueden avanzar hacia ningún lugar.
D) la única presencia importante de los rebeldes en el oeste se encuentra aún en Sorman en una zona controlada por los rebeldes, pero en Sabratha han quedado muy golpeados.
E) Existe una lucha en el oeste de Misrata y en Dafnia
Para dar un ejemplo de las dos diferentes "realidades" que se difunden. En (4) Usted puede leer acerca de los rebeldes que habrían tomado Zlitan, en el oeste de Misrata. En un Rayyis de vídeo (5) se puede ver claramente la alegría de los habitantes de Zlitan después de haber sido capaces de ahuyentar a los rebeldes que son claramente no deseados en este pueblo. ¿Quién puede culparlos después de la masacre cometida por las fuerzas aéreas de los rebeldes el 9 de agosto (6)?

Every day the spokesperson of the Libyan Government, Moussa Ibrahim, gives a press conference in Arabic. Since most of us in the Western Countries don't understand a word of Arabic it can sometimes be difficult to get a grip on what is going on in Libya according to the Libyan Government.
Fortunately there are people willing to translate the briefings, or at least give a summary of events. I hope to be able to present these translations from this site. I could definitely use more people who speak Arabic and English to translate other video that are circulating on YouTube.
It seems to be that the Western media hardly talk to anyone who is a supporter of the Jamahiriya, but are heavily inclined to be embedded with the Rebel Troops, and spread words of Rebel spokespersons almost as fact. This is probably the result of the fact that the reporters are from NATO countries and from Qatar (Al-Jazeera), and that there are hardly journalists who give an account from the other side of the conflict.
Together with the merciless bombing of NATO of all those who oppose their Rebels on the ground, makes it a very unfair and internationally illegal war. But since the stakes are so high, we hardly hear anyone complain. They prefer to repeat that Gaddafi is losing and has no support in the country, to hide the reality that many people do support him and that NATO is creating situations in which the Rebels are allowed to kill of their fellow Libyans in street to street battles, with NATO killing off all opposition with their helicopters and war planes.
Every citizen that carries a gun to protect itself against the NATO Rebels seems to be regarded as a legitimate target to 'engage' (7)
On August 18 there was a press conference by the Secretary General of the Peoples' Committee (the PM) who again pleaded for a ceasefire and an end to the violence because they don't want more Libyan blood to be spoiled in this war (1).

For the security situation the important developments as follows.
A) A small group of rebels entered the refinery of Zawia but they have been chased away.
B) a small attack of about 8 cars tried a desperate attack from the southern areas of Zlitan in an attempt to force government forces to come out of Misrata to confront them but they were defeated and pushed away by the Tribes of Zlitan, with the volunteers from all over Libya who are there and a small Army presence (5)... moussa says don't believe the reports.. they are nonsense.
C) rebel supply routes in the west have been cut so they can't progress anywhere
D) the only major presence of rebels in the west is still Sorman with area controlled by rebels but in Sabratha there are pockets of them in some areas
E) there is fighting in el harsha west of Misrata and in Dafnia
To give you an example of the two different 'realities' that are being spread. In (4) you can read about the Rebels that would have taken Zlitan, in the west of Misrata. In a Rayyisse video (5) you can clearly see the joy of the inhabitants of Zlitan after they were able to chase away the Rebels who are clearly very unwanted in this town. Who can blame them after the massacre that was committed by the airforce of the Rebels on August 9 (6)?
